Joe Walsh of the Eagles Announces 2012 Solo Tour Dates

Although the Eagles are scheduled to rock dates in North America and overseas over the next month, Joe Walsh isn’t letting that jam-packed tour itinerary get in the way of his solo career. After the Eagles’ current trek wraps, Walsh has announced a run of U.S. tour dates in support of his new full-length, Analog Man, which will arrive on June 6. Walsh has booked 11 solo shows at the moment, setting off in late May and then sporadically running through the end of August.

Walsh’s solo roster begins May 17 in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and runs through August 30 in Tulalip, Washington. The rocker hits several festivals on the run, including Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Ribfest in Naperville, Illinois. Only time will tell if Walsh’s solo shows will include any random Eagles tunes. Find a complete list of his solo, North American tour dates, below.

Radiohead Add U.S. Tour Dates

Radiohead have added a batch of West Coast dates to their upcoming tour. The announced concert will precede the band’s two-show stint at Coachella on April 14 and 21, according to Spinner.

Before then, Radiohead will bring music from last year’s The King of Limbs to Seattle on April 9, San Jose, California, on April 11 and Santa Barbara, California, on April 12. The band have already announced 10 U.S. shows, beginning in February in Miami.

In addition, Thom Yoke and pals have added another date to their summer international schedule – July 25 in Taipei, Taiwan. Radiohead are already scheduled to play in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Chickenfoot to play U.K. Dates This Week

Hot on the heels of the release of their III album, Chickenfoot will play two concerts in the U.K. this week.

The English shows are part of a short five-date European tour. Chickenfoot play Manchester Academy on Thursday, January 12and London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Saturday, January 14.

Chickenfoot will perform songs from III for the first time outside of America.

Chickenfoot’s Joe Satriani and ex-Van Halen boys, Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar, will be joined by Kenny Aronoff on drums, temporarily replacing Chickenfoot’s original drummer Chad Smith, who will join the band for the other European dates.

Coldplay Unveil North American, European Tour Dates

Coldplay are set to launch their first North American tour in nearly three years. The trek begins April 17 in Edmonton, AB, Canada. In addition, today (December 9), the band unveiled the dates and locales for their 2012 European stadium summer, which kicks off May 18, in Porto, Portugal. Fans of Coldplay can also ring in the New Year with the band, in the form of a New Year’s Eve TV special the group is staging for PBS’s Austin City Limits. The 90-minute episode will air nationwide on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 11 p.m. EST. A new Coldplay single, titled “Charlie Brown,” goes to radio later this month.

Guitar Hero Duane Eddy Returns with Album and Dates

Guitar legend Duane Eddy will release a brand new album on June 20 in the U.K.

He’s also playing London’s prestigious 100 Club on June 21, as well as Britain’s premier outdoor festival, Glastonbury, on June 26.

This is Eddy’s first album in 24 years and was produced by singer Richard Hawley. Eddy lived in England for the duration of the project and enjoyed his time in Sheffield: “The people there are like the people in Nashville – friendly, sweet and wonderful people.”

He also told Spinner.com that he enjoyed the Yorkshire beer: “I like to have my pint! I like the occasional pint of Guinness, too, but that's a little thick. You can almost chew it! But I love the taste of English ale.”

The king of the twang guitar spoke about how he got that unique sound back in the day: “We didn't have an echo chamber. Before I started we all went down to Salt River and we found a 2000-gallon water tank that echoed. The studio owner bought it and shipped it up to his studio and put it out in his parking lot with a speaker in one end and a mic in another. We ran my guitar and the other instruments through it and it gave us the echo.”

Larry Carlton Announces Tour Dates, New Website

Grammy-winning guitarist Larry Carlton has announced a series of tour dates in North America and Europe. The Larry Carlton Trio kicked off the tour with a series of shows at The Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, a run that began last night. After scheduled performances in Switzerland, France, Belgium and Luxemburg, Carlton will return to the U.S. with a performance with the Nashville Symphony on September 30.

Carlton also announced the launch of an “all-new” LarryCarlton.com. The updated website features news, tour dates, a video library, a new music section and more. The site also features a new Larry Carlton Store, featuring CDs, DVDs, instructional courses and more.

Garth Brooks New Concert Dates

Country music legend Garth Brooks has announced he will play more concerts at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brooks, who had retired to raise his kids in 2000, started playing again in 2009 in Las Vegas. This year’s shows will see Brooks doing two shows a night on Fridays and Saturdays in Vegas on select dates in August, September, October and November.

Tickets will be available starting Saturday, May 21 via Ticketmaster.com or 1-877-65-GARTH. Showtimes will be 8 and 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Soundgarden Announce Tour Dates, Progress on New Album

Soundgarden have just unveiled their first four tour dates of 2011: Beginning July 2 in Toronto, the tour will then hit Philadelphia, Denver and Los Angeles.

Guitarist Kim Thayil also told Spinner.com this week that the reunited Soundgarden are at work in Seattle on their first studio album in 15 years. This follows the release last month of their 1996 concert recording, Live on I-5.

“[The new album] is pretty developed in the writing process,” reports Thayil. “We’ve been at it since December, January. We’re still writing, but we have a number of songs that are complete, a number of songs that are close to being completed and a number of songs that look like they just woke up … We probably, after 13, 14 years, have new things to bring to the table. Our interests have gone off in slightly different directions, but at our core we’re still moved by the things that informed Soundgarden’s body of work, which is the sort of dark beauty, heaviness and an aggressiveness without being viscerally old and awkward. There’s gonna be a lot that’s familiar and similar. There’s gonna be stuff that’s definitely different; the stuff that’s different however will be within the context of those elements that are described earlier.”

When asked to estimate a release date for the new album, Thayil said, “We are not going to pressure ourselves and we’re not likely to let other people pressure us. I believe that can really stress out and put a lot of pressure on a band. It’s very likely that if a deadline is set for us, [there’s a] good chance we'll let it pass. We’re not gonna do anything to make what we’re doing un-fun.”
